Bratsk State University is one of the largest university campuses in the North of Siberia. It combines fundamental education in its best traditions with the most modern methods and techniques of teaching. The University is a member of the UNESCO-based worldwide association of higher education institutions “International Association of Universities” (IAU) which brings together institutions and organisations from some 150 countries for reflection and action on common concerns and collaborates with various international, regional and national bodies active in higher education.

Today BrSU has

-         a branch in the city of Ust-Ilimsk;

-         Pulp-and-Paper College;

-         Pedagogical College;

-         Educational Offices in the cities of Severobaikalsk, Ust-Kut, Nizhneudinsk, Tulun, Kansk, Irkutsk;

-         33 Departments;

-         39 educational programmes;

-         7 Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree programmes;

-         post-graduate and doctorate courses on 23 educational programmes;

-         a centre of pre-higher education preparation;

-         a regional centre of improvement of qualification and professional retraining of specialists;

-         a regional centre of employment assistance to university graduates;

-         an IT centre;

-         an editorial and publishing council;

-         media laboratories;

-         a weekly corporative newspaper “Bratskiy Universitet”.

Bratsk State University has 347 research workers and teaching employees. 57 of them have Degree of Doctor, Professor and more than 190 have Degree of Candidate, Associate Professor. 24 of them have Honorable Degrees of Members and Corresponding Members of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences and the International Higher Education Academy of Sciences.

University campus has 7 educational and laboratory buildings, 3 hostels, a refectory and a sports complex, 114 laboratories, workshops, 3 laboratory modules with production equipment, 35 computer classes with Internet access.

University library has more than 600 thousand books on the educational programmes, 4 reading halls and an electronic database.

University has an excellent sports and health complex including 3 gyms, an open-air stadium, a sanitarium and a refectory for students.

Our students life is very interesting. To help our students realize their creative activity the Department for Extra-Curricular Work and a Students Club were created at BrSU.

More than twelve and a half thousand students are educated now at Bratsk State University.

• Societe d'Encouragement pour I'Industrie Nationale SPI – Society of Encouragement of Industry (France) – Gold Medal as one of the most effective organization implementing modern technologies (2002);
• International Agency of Business Information ABI (Sydney-Dusseldorf-Paris-New-York) – the First Degree Registered Award “Gold Imperial” and Certificate “EXPO-2005” (2005);
• 35^th International Exhibition of Inventions and Technology (Geneva, Switzerland) – Diploma and Silver Medal, Diploma and Bronze Medal. Diploma of Federal Agency for Intellectual Property, Patents and Trade Marks for high level of development introduced at the Exhibition (2007);
